Roxana J. Javid joined Savannah State University in 2016 as an assistant professor of Civil Engineering. She received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in sustainable transportation from Texas Tech University in 2016. Prior to that, she obtained her M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2012 and her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in 2009. She has been actively involved in a number of state and federal research projects during the last four years focusing on sustainable transportation and transportation infrastructure. Dr. Javid conducts research and educational activities. In particular, she investigates the contribution of road transportation to global warming, as well as the integration of diverse data sources to discover the role of sustainable transportation policies in emission mitigation. Her main areas of research interest are big data statistical analysis, sustainable policy evaluation, transportation planning and climate change, transportation and public health, alternative fuel vehicle adoption, and High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes.
